Adecco is currently hiring a temporary full-time skilled and safety-conscious Table Saw Operator to join our clients manufacturing team in Scarborough, ON. Ideally you will have experience operating table saws in a production environment, with a strong focus on precision, safety, and efficiency. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Pay Rate: $20 - $22/hour (based on experience)

  • Location: Scarborough, ON

  • Shift: Monday - Thursday: 7:30 am to 4:30 pm and Friday: 7:30 am to 2:00 pm

  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain the paperwork for the job that is to be set-up

  • Check that area around the Table Saw is clean and free of offcuts or debris

  • Determine if the cut requires the use of a slider or Uni-l accordingly.

  • Any thickness of material being cut to a width of ¾" or l use of a slider or Uni-Feeder.

  • If the material being cut fits on the slider, and all machine the slider may be used without the use of the Uni-Feed operators hands / fingers are able to remain at least ¾ and outside the path of the cut.

  • If the material being cut is too large to fit within the slider, or if the operators hands / fingers cannot remain at least ¾" away from the blade, the Uni-Feeder MUST be used.

  • Continue with the set-up placing the stops / fixture in place.

  • Ensure all applicable guarding is in place before completion of the set-up.

  • Riving knife should always be used when there is a possibility of material binding in the blade.

  • Once the set-up is complete, cut your first piece and measure it against your sample for size and finish.

  • Complete a full first off inspection and make the appropriate modifications if the part is not matching the sample provided.

  • If adjustments were required, re-run a second part and perform the same checks to ensure what is being cut matches the signed off sample.

  • Once a part is deemed acceptable by the operator, it needs to be verified by a supervisor and signed off to allow production to begin.

  • Document the first off inspection as being complete on the Table Saw paperwork provided with each job.

  • Continue production doing periodic checks to ensure our quality standard is maintained.

  • If any modifications are required due to quality issues, once the change have been made, have a supervisor sign off before continuing with production.

  • At the end of the shift, document the total count for that shifts production.

  • At no time should a table saw be left running while unattended.

Qualifications:

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Proven experience operating table saws or similar cutting equipment in a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Strong understanding of safety practices and procedures related to saw operation.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

  • Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and stand for extended periods.

  • Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions.
