Adecco is currently hiring a full-time compassionate and reliable Home Support Worker to assist elderly citizens and individuals in need with daily living support. This role focuses on promoting health, safety, and well-being through personalized care, home safety checks, and community engagement. If you are dedicated to helping others live comfortably and independently, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour

  • Location: Gold River, B.C. (Tsa'Xana Reserve)

  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Elder Citizens or-and those in need with home support to prepare for health appointments and basic needs.

  • Advising clients on eating healthy and balancing meals, and ensuring they have food stocks available that are non-perishable.

  • Checking homes and living conditions for safety, risk, and cleanliness.

  • Helping clients with mobility access

  • Advising clients on healthy living activities and making them aware of activities in the community that they could access.

  • Organizing and assisting in planning activities for clients.

  • Working with families of clients on planning and care for clients

  • Assisting in planning meetings for clients

  • Making notes and reports on clients in organized files.

  • Other related tasks and duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently without supervision and in a team environment where mutual support is essential.

  • Able to deal with individuals in varying situations where complex, high pressure, tough decisions, or emergencies may occur in addition to keeping in mind to respect culture and traditions.

  • Interact with others in a tactful, compassionate, and sensitive manner.

  • Work is performed indoors but facilitated mainly off site in clients homes.

  • Must be able to work shift work, as hours will fluctuate.

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds on level surfaces, and up and down stairs. 

  • COVID vaccination certificate, minimum two doses.

  • A vehicle is required.

  • RCMP Vulnerable sector check

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
