Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of Credit card storage and querying data, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Accountabilities

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the assessment of sizing and complexity of User Stories and to the solutioning of those Stories for Credit Card applications.
  • Develop User Stories to a high level of quality, including identifying error scenarios and the review of code coverage.
  • Ensure the application portfolio technologies support is up to date, ensuring compliance with the bank's application lifecycle, hardening, security and PCI policies.
  • Proactively monitor application environments with available tools, create awareness in the larger team of any observed issues, and contribute to resolving those issues.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to drive modernization of technology and automation of processes, including offering ideas of solutions to these opportunities and optimization of process
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be incorporate into in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience / Other Information

  • English communication skills, both oral and written
  • 5+ years’ experience SQL technologies.
  • 2+ years’ experience with Job’s, Functions, Store procedures and Tasks dev.
  • 2+years’ experience with Credit Card Projects implementation.
  • 2+ years’ experience with Java8 or higher is an asset
  • Familiarity with REST, SOAP microservices is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of SQL infrastructure, functionality and services.
  • Familiarity with SQL tables and files process.
  • Familiarity with cloud platform technologies is an asset
  • Experience in SFTP and Administration Windows servers to transfer files.
  • Experience in SCRUM Agile teams is an asset
  • Experience working on multiple initiatives concurrently
  • Experience working remotely in distributed project engagements
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language skills (B1 English level)

 

Working Conditions

Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
