Summary


The Specialist, Channel Compensation – Sales Compensation Strategy is a strategic contributor who supports and manages Bell’s Partner Compensation Strategy and the Compensation design-to-deployment process. A hybrid of traditional jobs in compensation, finance, sales operations, and strategic planning, this role is critical to supporting the Partner channels. 
Success in this role means:
•    Designing compensation plans that are effective, clear, measurable 
•    Communicating compensation design and strategy effectively in executive level meetings visually (in slides, email, and other material) and verbally (in live meetings)

Responsibilities range from strategic (developing compensation recommendations based on business objectives) to operational (working across teams to ensure metrics can be supervised and systems updated to ensure Partner Channels are paid accurately and on-time). The best candidates have the ability to absorb strategic vision from leadership and synthesize, apply that vision across all the compensation plans managed by the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish strong relationships with sales organization leadership and support teams to fully understand their needs and perspective
  • Lead and improve upon the compensation design-to-deployment process for Partner Channel: identify strategic business objectives, assess success of current plans, propose new designs
  • Create and maintain data models that support the design of compensation plans for Partner channels
  • Develop a high level understanding of Bell's compensation systems so that systems capabilities are considered during the design phase
  • Design temporary incentives to support short term strategic priorities
  • Perform adhoc analysis and investigations as required to support reporting and decision making
  • Create and deliver reports and presentations to stakeholders form different levels
  • Work with Finance to predict the cost of compensation programs and plan overall design strategy
     

Critical Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of consulting, compensation, finance, or strategy & ops experience
  • Self-starter capable of independently driving projects to completion
  • Build business cases supporting compensation programs to drive activations and revenue
  • Outstanding problem solving skills: demonstrated ability to structure complex problems and develop solutions
  • Expert presentation skills, especially related to building compelling slide presentations and presenting decisions to executive leadership
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, and MS Powerpoint and presentation skills
  • Capacity in complex problem-solving methods
  • Ability to analyze data and provide key business recommendations
