Novo Nordisk

Home / Novo Nordisk

Novo Nordisk is a global healthcare company, founded in 1923 and headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. Our purpose is to drive change to defeat serious chronic diseases, built upon our heritage in diabetes. We do so by pioneering scientific breakthroughs, expanding access to our medicines and working to prevent and ultimately cure the diseases we treat. We employ about 69,000 people in 80 countries and market our products in around 170 countries. We are a proud life science company united by a common job to discover better treatments for people living with a serious chronic disease.

Our industry is dynamic. And the scientific understanding of the diseases we treat and the people living with them, improves every day. This is a constant reminder that what got us to where we are today is not necessarily what will make us successful in the future. As an employer, we recognize the need to embrace experimentation and strive for diversity and inclusion to help make better decisions by ensuring that multiple perspectives are considered. Together, we’re life changing.

Commitment to Diversity

As an organization committed to driving change for people living with serious chronic diseases, we have a responsibility to make Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) part of everything we do -- from developing our products to building and supporting our workforce. Our commitment to DEIB is in keeping with the Novo Nordisk Way, which calls upon us to do all we can for the patients and communities we serve, including our own Novo Nordisk employees, some of whom are also patients and caregivers.

We commit to an inclusive recruitment process and equality of opportunity for all our job applicants.

At Novo Nordisk we recognize that it is no longer good enough to aspire to be the best company in the world. We need to aspire to be the best company for the world and we know that this is only possible with talented employees with diverse perspectives, backgrounds and cultures. We are therefore committed to creating an inclusive culture that celebrates the diversity of our employees, the patients we serve and communities we operate in. Together, we’re life changing.

Novo Nordisk is an equal opportunity employer. Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, ethnicity, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, or any other characteristic protected by local, provincial, or federal laws.”

Vision for the Future

We are committed to treating everyone with respect and having a healthy and engaging working environment. Novo Nordisk Canada Inc (NNCI) is dedicated to creating a rich and equitable community of belonging, where all employees are valued for the diversity they bring, and are empowered to be themselves, and who they aspire to be. We know that a community made up of people with unique skills and perspectives will empower us to create and implement bold and innovative ideas that will transform lives.

Our 2SLGBTQ+ focused ERG, the Allied Rainbow Community (ARC), strongly embodies this same vision: For every employee of Novo Nordisk Canada to feel they belong to a visibly diverse and systemically equitable and inclusive workplace.
