Science is a Drag elevates science communication through the powerful art of drag — a medium rooted in community and unapologetic self-expression — to spark genuine connection that transforms settings from nightlife venues to corporate boardrooms.
The organization offers inclusive STEM programming for organizations committed to building belonging: corporate keynotes, ERG events and Pride Month activations, Learning and Development workshops, university and conference headliners, and public science performances. Programming is available year-round and delivered by expert scientist performers with deep experience in both science communication and the art of drag.
Founded in Toronto in 2019, Science is a Drag has earned global recognition including the Falling Walls Science Breakthrough of the Year in Science Engagement (2022) and a Silver Anthem Award for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Community Outreach (2023). Their community shows sell out within minutes, and 100% of audience members say they would attend again. Past clients include AstraZeneca, Google, GSK, Northeastern University, the Ontario Science Centre, and the Government of Canada.
