Adecco is actively seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our client’s growing manufacturing company in Scarborough, ON. You will manage daily accounting tasks using QuickBooks Online, oversee inventory and COGS, and assist with monthly financial reporting and reconciliations. The ideal candidate has strong manufacturing accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to work accurately under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.   • Pay Rate: $80k-$90k/year.

  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time

Responsibilities:  

  • Utilize QuickBooks Online to record and process entries related to assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses by gathering and analyzing accounting data.

  • Oversee monthly inventory levels and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), generating comprehensive reports on inventory valuation, physical counts, bills of materials (BOM), work-in-progress (WIP), and COGS analysis.

  • Manage and reconcile subsidiary ledgers by validating, posting, and resolving discrepancies in bank transactions.

  • Handle the verification, posting, allocation, and reconciliation of accounts payable and accounts receivable.

  • Support the preparation of accurate monthly financial statements for internal review.

  • Deliver precise accounting reports and communicate results effectively to stakeholders.

  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by posting subsidiary transactions, preparing trial balances, and ensuring reconciliations are accurate.

  • Prepare and enter monthly adjusting journal entries.

  • Manage accounting for intercompany transactions and ensure proper recording.

  • Prepare and file GST/HST, WSIB, and EHT reports in compliance with regulations.

  • Maintain an organized and efficient filing system for financial documents.

  • Take on additional tasks and special projects as assigned by management.

  • Ensure all financial information is kept confidential and secure.

Requirements:  

  • Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.

  • A minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience, including at least one year within a manufacturing setting.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and hands-on experience with inventory management software.

  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial statement preparation.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables for data analysis.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong numerical aptitude, with the ability to perform well under tight deadlines.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving and ever-evolving environment.

  • Holds a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • CPA designation is required or near completion.

  • Experience participating in ERP system implementation projects is considered an asset.
