Job Description

Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, the Human Resources Intern plays a key role in supporting our team’s day-to-day operations and special projects. This internship is your opportunity to gain hands-on HR experience in a fast-paced, dynamic hospitality environment from recruitment and onboarding to employee engagement, and training.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for the HR office, providing friendly and professional support to employees in person, by phone, and through email
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment, including managing job postings, conducting pre-screens, scheduling interviews, and completing reference checks
- Assist with onboarding and orientation coordination to ensure a smooth start for new employees
- Manage daily administrative tasks including creating employment letters, issuing access cards, producing name tags, and maintaining accurate employee files and records
- Troubleshoot and provide guidance to employees on accessing HRIS and recognition platforms
- Help manage the MTCC general phone and email lines while delivering exceptional customer service to all employees and visitors
- Oversee employee data in the HRIS, ensuring information is entered accurately, maintained up to date, and handled with the highest level of confidentiality
- Plan and coordinate employee programs and wellness initiatives that promote engagement and a positive workplace culture
Job Skills & Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Human Resources program (CHRP courses an asset)
- Office or administrative experience, ideally in HR or hospitality, is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; familiarity with HRIS systems is an asset
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a professional, friendly demeanor
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and eager to learn
- Passion for employee engagement, wellness initiatives, and fostering a positive workplace culture
