Introduction
The Cloud Site Reliability Engineer is a critical role in the growing and dynamic IBM Business Analytics organization. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Business Analytics Cloud offerings, ensuring that they are scalable, reliable, and secure.
You will work closely with other engineers, developers, support, and stakeholders to ensure that our Cloud offerings are performing optimally and that our customers have a seamless experience. In this role you will focus on the design, development, and delivery of automation to reduce toil, drive operational efficiency, improve consistency, maintain highest level of security & compliance while working to continually transform our Cloud offerings.

Your Role and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of systems. Act as a technical liaison between customers, delivery teams and support.
- Develop and maintain automation, configuration management, and monitoring to reduce toil.
- Design, implement, maintain and support systems for high availability, scalability, and performance.
- Continuously improve infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Work with security teams to ensure strict compliance with security standards and best practices.
- Be passionate about learning & growing skills and putting into practice to grow success of the team and our clients. Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the public cloud solutions architects and SRE teams.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Cloud (IBM, AWS, Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, Teraform, Containers, Orchestration
- Scripting (Python, Ansible, PowerShell, Shell)
- Deployment tools and processes, CI/CD Pipeline, Jenkins, RunDeck
- Linux, Windows
- Monitoring (SysDig, Mezmo (LogDNA), Instana)
- Databases (MongoDB, DB2, SQL Server, Redis)
- Troubleshooting (Problem, Incident & Root Cause Analysis)
- Source Control (GitHub Enterprise, JIRA, ZenHub)
- Self-starter with an in-depth hands-on work experience with large-scale implementations
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Understanding of Infrastructure as a Service, Infrastructure as Code and related concepts.
- Proven experience as a successful senior engineer and/or cloud engineer highly desirable
- Experienced, persuasive and effective presenter, both written and verbal
- Experience leading high performance, results driven teams with a focus on client satisfaction.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple initiatives and rapidly changing priorities.
- Cloud Architect – IBM Cloud or Azure, AWS certified equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication, coaching, analysis, problem solving and short term and long-term planning.
- Networking – Firewalls & Load Balancers (Netscaler, Vyatta, StrongSwan)
