Career Opportunity

Join the IT Services Department at an exciting time, as we are hiring for two Senior Systems Analyst positions.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Manager – Application Portfolios, the Senior Systems Analyst is part of a team responsible for the successful delivery of end-to-end products and services defined by their portfolio of business capabilities and applications.

 

In this role, you provide the expertise and technical direction needed to define, maintain, enhance, or replace information systems and technology. Responsibilities include reviewing business requirements; developing processes and procedures; and supporting the development and implementation of effective and efficient computer systems by preparing detailed program specifications, formulating business and system requirements statements, performing detailed analyses, and preparing and reviewing systems documentation and functional specifications.

 

You will design and develop subsystems within a larger, complex Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Maximo environment; produce logical database designs; and collaborate with Database Analysts. Working with Server Technology and the Information Security Office, you align solutions with TTC digital cybersecurity requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities also include providing front-line technical support for operational issues, participating in system upgrades and updates, contributing to new system development, and delivering training to stakeholders in your areas of expertise.  Working alongside Enterprise Architects, you help design lasting and effective strategies for the EAM suite of applications, aiming to empower employees and create a more reliable transit system.

 


You provide leadership and direction to junior developers in software development best practices, Maximo best practices, and task scheduling/prioritization. You will conduct business meetings with various business partners to resolve requests, incidents, and opportunity- and demand-related enhancements, and you support the manager by managing intake and assigning requests to other members of the team.

What Qualifications You Bring?

  • Completion of a college diploma or a university degree in a relevant discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent
  • Must have several years of experience with development and configuration and administration in Maximo 7.6, MAS 9.0 or above in Asset and Work Management, Inventory and Purchasing, Labor Reporting, Maximo Anywhere/Mobile, Asset Configuration Manager applications
  • Must have sound knowledge and experience in .NET, ASP.NET development with emphasis on C#, VB.NET, JavaScript, JQuery, MVC, HTML5, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, and SAP Business Objects Enterprise (BOE), PowerBI, API integration, Reverse Engineering applications, Web API, XML, JSON, XSD, WSDL, XSLT, SOAP, REST, Python
  • Demonstrated hands on experience in analyzing and resolving technical problems, including development, interface, configuration, project implementation and support
  • Multiple years of experience with SQL, Crystal Reports, PowerBI for development and BOE deployment is preferred
  • Must have previous experience in .Net or Java
  • Ability to apply business and user requirements definition skills, and problem resolution skills to front line project and system support
  • Sound judgment, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experienced in working with third-party vendors and building customer trust and confidence by delivering exceptional, end-user–focused service
  • Experience in transportation industry is an asset.
