What is the opportunity?
The Leadership team is focused on identifying and developing leaders to enable RBC’s winning culture. As a collective team, we: develop and enable the enterprise leadership strategy by executing and advancing RBC’s talent and performance practices, delivering leadership development programs and leading executive on-boarding and development.
As Senior Manager, Talent Management & Board Governance, you will report to the Director, Talent Management & Board Governance and will be responsible for leading key talent management initiatives, as well as delivering against critical regulatory and board requirements.
YOU will be accountable to help deliver on RBC’s Leadership Strategy and will:
- Solution, implement and operationalize enterprise talent management priorities that activate our Leadership Strategy across key talent segments
- Establish and reinforce strong governance mechanisms to lead the design, socialization and execution of clear talent management processes with partners (i.e. HR Talent Partners, Compensation, Corporate Secretary, Compliance) across the organization
- Support board governance activities, including reporting and insights on cyclical and targeted talent initiatives
- Own and maintain an accurate inventory of regulatory requirements applicable to the Leadership team and align appropriate controls to monitor and manage risk
- Leverage Workday to advance our enterprise talent management data and reporting capabilities, partnering with the Talent Data & Analytics team
- Complete data analysis to derive insights and drive decision making
- Lead projects end-to-end with strong project management capabilities
- Ensure integration and alignment with other key leadership and HR engagement initiatives through communication channels and key tactics
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
- University degree or related business experience
- Strong communication, presentation and storytelling skills (oral, business writing, PPT) with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely
- Capability to lead projects from initial planning phase to execution and sustainment
- Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams to meet tight timelines and manage multiple deliverables
- Strong ability to derive data-driven insights to inform decision-making, as well as establish and maintain necessary controls to ensure data integrity
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to navigate and adapt through ambiguity, complexity and change
- Be a strong team player, act as one team and speak up for the good of RBC
- HR and business acumen, including experience in leadership and talent management
Nice to have:
- Experience with board reporting and/or regulatory compliance
- Bilingual (English and French)
- CHRP, CHRL or other HR designation is an asset
