We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Data Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will primarily focus on data engineering tasks while also contributing to machine learning projects in collaboration with the analytics and the tech team. The ideal candidate is a developer with a strong interest in enabling analytics and machine learning, while passionate about leveraging data to drive insights and innovation

What would you need?

Must Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

  • Proven experience in data engineering, including designing and optimizing data pipelines, db schemas, ETL processes, and data warehousing.

  • Strong Proficiency in Python (pandas, SQLAlchemy, psycopg2, API handling etc), and experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

  • Strong understanding of Git-based workflows and GitHub, with the ability to establish repository standards, branching strategies and automation pipelines.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) and Airflow

  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices for building scalable, maintainable, and performant systems.

Nice to Have: 

  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.

  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools.

  • Knowledge of distributed computing and parallel processing techniques.

  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Terraform).

  • Contributions to open-source projects or participation in relevant communities.

  • Experience working with entrepreneurs 

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and knowledge of different ML models and algorithms.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively to ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

​Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like node.js, typescript, etc. would be a benefit
