Unit/Project Description:
| Working under close supervision, the Research Technician will provide research support to all three brain tumor research programs in Singh lab. This includes performing various in vitro standardized and established laboratory experiments. The technician should have in-depth experience with a variety of biochemistry and molecular biology techniques including but not limited to Western blotting, cloning, PCR based techniques such as RT-PCR. The technician is expected to perform other experiments involving culture of primary cells including Brain tumor cultures and T cells. The technician would also prepare common stock such as media, buffer solutions etc., and maintain equipment for the lab. Other responsibilities include compiling orders, maintaining a supply inventory, stocking supplies and trouble-shooting experiments. The technician would be an essential part of a large and dynamic team. Job Summary: | The Research Laboratory Technician (III) is responsible for providing research support to faculty members in their research and teaching laboratory activities. This support includes performing standardized and non-standardized laboratory experiments and conducting literature searches for use in publications such as journal articles or papers. Works in a developing capacity with increased responsibility for performing a range of laboratory assignments under general direction. |
