Job Description:
Reporting to the VP, Market Development, the Program Manager is a key enabling and leading role within the Sun Life Health team, requiring passion and energy as well as the ability to solve complex problems.
The Program Manager will work alongside the VP, Market Development, and the VP, Health Products & Partnerships to support the definition, evolution, implementation and on-going refresh of business management activities. This role will support the execution of key initiatives and work closely across all levels of the organization. In addition, this role will be accountable for providing support to the VPs in managing leadership meetings, employee engagement initiatives, offsites and other key events.
Key accountabilities:
Develop, manage and maintain a program roadmap, partnering across the teams to effectively illustrate initiatives, interdependencies and key milestones; and support the resolution of barriers or challenges within individual initiatives.
Provide guidance to key projects and initiatives in support of the evolution of the Market Development and Health Products strategies.
Lead the analysis, development and execution of recommendations for business processes. Monitor and maintain ongoing governance as appropriate.
Contribute to the development and evolution of standardized processes across the team.
Perform financial management activities, acting as a liaison between the business and finance on activities such as annual budgeting, quarterly commentary, etc.
Participate in the planning and execution of team-wide and Sun Life Health meetings and events
Manage all activities related to Leadership team meetings and off-sites (prepare meetings, manage agenda and timing, assist in preparation of pre-reads, scribe meetings minutes, manage action items and follow-ups)
Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies, including presentations and roll-out plans, to support leadership and key strategic initiatives across both organizations.
Support the development of relevant team metrics (OKRS) and own the ongoing monitoring of results.
Work with a cross functional group of program managers to share best practices and support employee engagement.
Lead cross-team Health projects as needed
What you need to succeed:
Experience working in project management functions or relevant experience
Highly organized and able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple initiatives and deadlines for various stakeholders
Strong and effective relationship builder with the ability to influence across boundaries
Excellent communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to summarize and present in a clear and concise manner to executive-level audiences
Strong problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills with a continuous improvement mindset
Self-starter, takes initiative and has a desire to probe and solution
Ability to work in ambiguous situations and with limited process definition or documentation
Ability to adapt to change and pivot quickly with changing priorities
Ability to manage through influence and collaborate to achieve goals
As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.
Preferred skills:
University or College degree or post-secondary education
Project management or general business management experience

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
