Detailed Job Description: Key Accountabilities:
- Prioritize safety in all job aspects and address unsafe conditions promptly.
- Learn and comply with management systems.
- Train and qualify on multiple posts within a reasonable timeframe.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently following established practices and guidelines.
- Manage equipment startup, shutdown, and isolation for maintenance.
- Conduct operator care rounds and routines, reporting deficiencies requiring maintenance support.
- Monitor and adjust equipment and process variables for safety, efficiency, and product quality.
- Maintain quality shift logs and perform shift handovers.
- Possess ABSA 3rd Class or 2nd Class power engineering certificate.
- Hold a valid class 5 driver's license.
- Potable water or Domestic Waste Water qualifications considered an asset.
- Operate large valves as needed.
- Climb ladders, stairs, and work on uneven ground.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment with strong communication skills.
- Exhibit strong mechanical aptitude for hands-on equipment operation with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
- Experience operating forklifts, steam turbines, centrifugal pumps, and more.
Candidate's Profile:
- Legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Safety-conscious mindset.
- Power engineering certification.
- Valid class 5 driver's license.
- Experience operating various equipment.
