Adecco is currently hiring a full-time skilled and certified 4th Class Power Engineer to join our client’s operations team as a Process Operator in Fort McMurray, AB. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing plant processes to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. You should be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and thrive in a dynamic industrial environment.

We are looking for a 4th class power engineer certified process operator. Must be local to Fort McMurray. This is not camp based FIFO role.

  • Pay Rate:  $40.00/hour

  • Location: Fort McMurray, AB

  • Shift: 3 days 3 nights and 6 off - 12 hours a day 

  • Job type: Long Term | Full-time | 1+year contract

Responsibilities:

  • Intervene directly with the shift organization and the business team accountable on any issues that are not in compliance or have the potential of not being in compliance

  • Utilize specialized knowledge and skills to independently devise new/modified methods and approaches or develop new/modified processes, to resolve non-routine needs or problems

  • Complete regular field checks to monitor plant performance

  • Troubleshoot and identify equipment issues of the operating unit

  • Complete equipment start-up and shutdown activities

  • Prepare and return equipment for maintenance

  • Complete equipment isolations and de-isolations

  • Develop or participate in the development of safe work plans as required

  • Monitor all activities in area of responsibility for compliance to safe work permits

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Equivalency Diploma) required

  • Minimum 2-years relevant experience

  • 4th Class Power Engineer certificate required

  • Ability to interpret Alberta Safety Code Regulation, which includes ASME Codes and others

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

  • Fall Protection/Confined Space is preferred

  • Mechanical aptitude to allow hands-on operation of plant equipment

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work and communicate in a team environment, with strong verbal, written and communication skills

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
