Purpose of Job:
The Manager, Business Intelligence, Retail Credit Risk, GRM will monitor and report on retail lending portfolios. Much of this will include creating dashboards and ad-hoc data pulls. As well, you will provide actionable insight to the Risk Management teams [Acquisition and Account Management] and business line partners.
The role is highly technical and requires expert SAS, T-SQL, ETL, data analytics and BI tools skillset. The incumbent will deliver ongoing portfolio reporting and monitoring to senior management, as well as address ad-hoc data requests.
Job Responsibilities:
Retail Credit Risk Portfolios Tracking & Data Management
- Use a variety of Business Intelligence analytical and reporting tools (ex. SAS, SQL, Power BI, Tableau) to provide dynamic reporting on key performance metrics to various stakeholders in GRM and business lines.
- Define and help implement system enhancements to process improvements
- Assist in developing and implementation of BI strategy and supporting BI architecture for GRM inclusive of developing a roadmap, scope and implementation plan to advance data analytics and reporting maturity
- Managing and driving changes to reporting based on feedback from the senior management team and functional leads
- Respond to AdHoc requests from executives and key stakeholders with a sense of urgency. Perform required data pulls, reconciliations to answer questions. Prioritization and working on more than one request at a time is often required.
- Provide actionable insights and meaningful messages from the reporting to drive credit risk decisions. Able to tell a story by synthesizing vast amounts of data into coherent messages.
- Proactively provide strategic analysis that will assist in optimizing risk rewards ratios and grow the portfolios.
- Collaborate with Acquisition, Account Management and Collections teams to provide measurement and reporting on strategic initiatives such as acquisition dynamics and quality, line optimization and collections effectiveness

- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
- Using our data, continually develop and refine a more holistic customer view
Innovation
- Explore opportunities for using latest innovative analytics, Business Intelligence and ETL tools to showcase portfolio dynamics, derive insights and streamline processes
- Aim to move from descriptive to prescriptive analytics by focusing on key drivers of portfolio risk and profitability
Risk Appetite Framework alignment
Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Math, Engineering, Computer Science or Statistics
- 5+ years related experience
- Strong development experience with T-SQL, Stored Procedures
- Working knowledge of implementation of ETL processes
- Must be proficient with Excel, SAS,T-SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau
- Strong communication skills essential with clients and management
- Strong prioritizing, planning, analytical, presentation, project management, people management and relationship building skills
- 2+ years’ experience in Retail Products would be a great asset
- 2+ years’ experience in Risk Analytics would be a great asset
