Adecco is actively seeking a skilled Law Clerk to join our client’s legal team in Toronto, ON. In this full-time role, you will manage court filings, client communications, and document preparation for mortgage enforcement and real estate cases. The position offers a competitive salary of $90,000 - $95,000 per annum.

- Prepare, file, and serve legal documents across various Ontario courts, primarily focusing on the Toronto Court (Ontario Superior Court, Civil) and occasional Court of Appeal matters.
- Oversee comprehensive documentation related to mortgage enforcement cases.
- Engage with clients in person by addressing inquiries, scheduling appointments, and processing payments.
- Provide reception support as needed to maintain professional client service during busy periods.
- Draft, review, and edit legal documents pertinent to mortgage enforcement.
- Tailor templated documents to fit specific client needs, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Coordinate appointments for examinations, discoveries, and virtual court meetings (e.g., via Zoom).
- Organize transcripts and follow up on undertakings, refusals, and related tasks.
- Collaborate with private lenders and mortgage brokers on complex loan disputes and repossessions.
- Prepare necessary documentation for repossession actions or settlement agreements, ensuring effective communication with brokers and clients throughout the process.
- Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
- Significant experience in civil litigation, particularly in commercial and mortgage enforcement law.
- Hold a Law Clerk designation.
- Strong drafting skills with a meticulous eye for detail in legal documents.
- Familiar with Ontario court filing procedures and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective client engagement and independent case management.
- Availability to work on-site a minimum of three days per week (parking provided).
- Capable of managing sensitive client matters and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
