Work Conditions
- Shift based position with 14 days on and 7 days off, working 11 hours per day
- Flights provided for eligible candidates (proof of residency required)
- Driving to and from the project location is an option as there is parking available
- Site based camp accommodations provided, Jack & Jill rooms

- Experienced applicants that reside in Kitimat or surrounding areas will be given preference due to the location of this project
Essential Responsibilities
- Multi skilled and fully competent in all the following – Loader, Dozer, Excavator and Grader
- Effectively and safely operates equipment, utilizing machine specific controls and attachments
- Operates in crowded, fast-paced working environments, and exercises extreme caution with awareness of potential situational hazards to ensure site safety
- Interprets verbal and non-verbal communication (including hand signals) from operators, ground personnel and acts accordingly
- Performs mechanical inspections and servicing including controls and operations, completing logbooks, performs maintenance and adjustments, ensures good housekeeping, and performs machine lubrication
- Recognizes existing and potential hazards and knows how to identify these through conducting a field level pre-job hazard analysis, checking the machine for hazards and assessing any tasks before start
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in a heavy civil or industrial setting
- Demonstrates skills and experience with finish grade work on an excavator
- Physically fit with the ability to lift 50 lbs and climb in and out of equipment on a regular basis
- Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clear driver's abstract
Compensation
This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.
Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
