Home Hardware has an exciting opportunity available for a Financial Analyst to join our Corporate Finance team. Reporting to the Manager, Finance, you will be responsible for providing financial and analytical support and be the key point of contact for our Lumber Building Materials (LBM) stakeholders.

What you’ll do:
- Ensure sales, costs, and inventory transactions for our Bulk Distribution Center (BDC) and Reload Centers are recorded accurately.
- Participate in the annual inventory count process and provide explanations for large variances.
- Manage the inventory in transit process for inventory purchased from offshore vendors.
- Perform daily validation of sales reporting for previous day’s transactions.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for revenue, costs, inventory, accrued liabilities and others accounts as required.
- Updating of monthly reports for various department stakeholders.
- Collaborate with corporate and operations department stakeholders to provide financial and analytical assistance with budgets and monthly reporting.
- Prepare/review budgets relating to BDC and Reload centers and monitor results and variances on an ongoing basis.
- Assistance with requests related to providing support for revenue, cost of goods sold and other inventory related queries from external auditors.
- Identify, assess, and communicate issues or opportunities affecting profitability and/or overall efficiencies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend changes that will improve the company’s financial performance.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (or currently working to completion).
- A minimum of three years’ experience in finance focused position, with exposure to financial analysis, journal entries, monthly reporting, and account reconciliations.
- Strong financial knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and concepts. Inventory accounting experience is advantageous.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced skills with Excel, Access, PowerBI and other analytical tools.
- Working knowledge of Oracle or related ERP systems is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence decisions to drive business profitability.
- Detail-oriented with strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to handle confidentiality.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities with ease while continuing to meet deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables.
- Some travel to BDC and Reload Centers may be required.
- Ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate our hybrid working model.
