Your Opportunity
Our Winnipeg group is looking to expand its team with a team-oriented and driven individual. In this position as an Electrical Engineering Technician / Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and technologists on multiple projects for a range of public and private sector clients. Your Key Responsibilities
- Facility condition assessments.
- Collection of necessary design input site information.
- Constructability reviews of designs.
- Technical guidance of design teams and provision of feedback from construction sites.
- Assistance with estimating of probable cost of construction.
- Construction contract administration.
- Provision of engineering oversight of projects in construction, including review of contractor submissions, responses to contractor inquiries, field reviews of electrical installations, etc.
- Commissioning oversight.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, National Building Code of Canada, and other codes and standards governing electrical installations.
- In-depth knowledge of construction practices and techniques. Hands-on experience in construction field preferred, especially in electrical contracting.
- Basic knowledge of engineering design and collaboration software including Revu Bluebeam.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong collaborative skills while working with a single or multi-discipline team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to follow Stantec's quality control guidelines.
- Understanding the importance of complying with Stantec's Employee Health and Safety (EH&S) program, with a focus on safety in the field.
- Desire to help build up stronger design team by providing technical guidance and constructive feedback from project implementation sites.
Education and Experience
Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 15-20 years of experience is required.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may require travel and include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
