Reporting to the Lead Construction Coordinator, the successful candidate will be assigned to the construction team and provide construction support to craft and supervision, as well as helping to satisfy the quality requirements on the project. Construction Coordinators do not have any direct responsibility for achieving progress or productivity, however, they are responsible for ensuring that progress is accurately reported and verified, and to minimize or eliminate any obstruction to the efficient working of the project. Construction Coordinators serve as the liaison between JFJV Construction and the field engineering, quality, and WFP on the project. The primary role of this this position is to act as the focal point for construction interfaces within the project team; ensuring that construction requirements are made known and promptly supported by other functions; and to coordinate with other groups in the technical services and quality organizations to ensure that construction delivers the requirements to support other project team members.
Core Activities:
• Plays an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work performed.
• Ensure the construction of the piping system is completed in accordance with applicable construction drawings, specifications and code prior to any tests being carried out.
• Participates in Pre-Test Walkdowns and provides punch items/lists to construction to carry out.
• Participates and monitors the tests and reports on the completion of tests.
• Examine system construction completeness, punch lists preparation, and readiness for pressure tests.
• Interface with the project controls team to understand the schedule and provide inputs to project controls team as required.
• Work closely with work face planners to revise the test limits when needed to support sustainable workfronts.
• Investigates and engages field engineering (when necessary) to resolve engineering and technical-related problems.
• Provides technical interpretation of design documents in support of construction managers, superintendents and contractors, and provides specific expertise for problem-solving activities when needed.
• Liaisons with WFP and confirms the status of material deliveries as required for pressure testing to minimize schedule delays by cooperating with field material management.
• Remains knowledgeable of safety policies and procedures and performs assigned duties in a safe manner.
• Adheres to project practices, procedures, and guidelines.
• Establishes and maintains effective communication between construction, field engineering, and quality
• Coordinates the preparation and implementation of the project quality program when the quality function is the responsibility of the construction coordinator as per the Site Quality Manual – Quality Responsibility Matrix.
• Interface with IDR coordinators for interdisciplinary release of completed work scope to other contractors.
• Examine reinstatement of piping systems and verify the completeness of system per applicable drawings, specifications, and codes.
