Survivor’s Hope Crisis Centre Inc. (SHCC)
The mandate of Survivor’s Hope Crisis Centre Inc. (SHCC) is to provide support and services through programming in the Interlake-Eastern region of Manitoba. We provide support that is inclusive to all genders through sexual assault crisis intervention and long-term counselling to survivors and secondary victims of sexual assault through our Sexual Assault Recovery and Healing (SARAH) Program, act as an educational resource for schools through our Sexual Assault Discussion Initiative (SADI) program where we provide workshops to grades 6, 8, 10, and 12 students on topics such as healthy relationships, safety, sexual exploitation, trauma, and self-esteem, and engage community and service providers through projects under our Reaching Out Program.
Additionally, SHCC addresses gender-based violence as a whole at the macro-level of prevention by examining the core sources of violence, such as gender and racial roles and other systemic issues that perpetuate gender-based violence.
