There are so many ways for you to get involved with Pride at Work Canada! You can advocate, volunteer, or encourage your employer to become a National or Regional Partner, and we are periodically recruiting for board members.
Join our Board
Pride at Work Canada is seeking visionary and dynamic leaders to fill twelve vacancies, including the Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and several regional lead positions on its Board of Directors. These individuals will work closely with the Executive Director, other Board members and volunteers to help the organization realize its mission, live its values and deliver on the priorities of its strategic plan, as well as plan for future direction of Pride at Work Canada. Elections will be held during Pride at Work’s Annual General Meeting taking place at 5:30pm EST on January 28, 2015.
In general, board members must be:
- Passionate about Pride at Work Canada’s mission;
- A role mode for Pride at Work Canada’s values;
- Willing to devote a minimum of 5-8 hours per month to board and committee matters;
- Available to prepare for and participate in monthly board meetings (which generally run 2 hours) and available to prepare for and participate in regular committee meetings (which generally run 1-3 hours per month); and
- A resident of Canada over the age of 18.
Pride at Work Canada strongly encourages applicants from traditionally under-represented communities and populations, as well as those from broad geographies. Board members will be asked to sign a Statement of Commitment confirming their dedication of sufficient time and energy to further our goals as well as a conflict of interest policy.
