Causeway is a not-for-profit agency that helps people with mental illness and other challenges find meaningful, rewarding work and live more independently. By helping everyone overcome challenges and reach their full potential, we are helping establish stronger and more inclusive communities. At Causeway, we call our employment programs, social enterprises, and support services Avenues because of the journey we go on together with our clients. Each person can take multiple avenues while on their journey, but they all lead to the same place: meaningful and lasting employment.

Our Avenues to Employment:

  • Employment Programs: We offer a variety of employment programs to provide each person with the level of support they need to reach their employment goals. Our employment programs offer support with resume and cover letter development, job searching and applications, interviewing, training, skills development, business planning, and more.
  • Social Enterprise: Causeway operates four social enterprises that provide opportunities for our clients to work in a supportive environment, gain new skills and experiences, and build confidence.
  • Support Services: Causeway provides wrap-around services for people to get the support they need to begin their employment journey from a stable and healthy starting point. Support services include a Community Supports program, a Wellness program, an Employment Resource Centre, and more.
Mission:

Building better communities by employing each person's abilities.

Vision:

Working communities where everyone is invaluable.

Values:

Causeway's values help to guide us and the services that we provide. Our values drive meaningful action and purposeful decisions.

  • Inclusion: We work with all people to foster a place of acceptance and belonging.
  • Respect: We treat everyone with compassion and kindness to create a community of respect.
  • Accountability: We have a responsibility to our clients, staff, employers, funders, and our community to provide reliable services.
  • Innovation: We're always learning and coming up with new ideas to continue being leaders of change to help make the world a better place.
  • Integrity: We believe in doing what is right with sincerity, clear intentions, and trust.
