Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Welcome House Operations Supervisor to join our client’s reception team in Gold River, BC. In this position you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional, safe, and culturally respectful visitor experience in Gold River, B.C. This position oversees the daily operations of the Welcome House, leads staff and volunteers, and supports cultural programming, retail services, and tourism‑related revenue activities including the marina, cabin rentals, and day tours.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader passionate about tourism, guest experience, and supporting Indigenous cultural tourism initiatives.

  • Pay Rate: Up to $70,000

  • Location: Gold River, B.C.

  • Schedule: Onsite | Vehicle Required | weekends may be required

  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time

Responsibilities:

Operations Leadership

  • Oversee daily Welcome House operations, including acting as key holder for opening and closing duties.

  • Maintain a welcoming, safe, culturally respectful environment for all visitors.

  • Manage daily workflows, visitor flow, and problem resolution onsite.

Staff Supervision & Training

  • Supervise, train, schedule, and support staff and volunteers.

  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and guest‑focused team culture.

  • Ensure consistent delivery of service standards.

Guest Services

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and respond professionally to visitor inquiries.

  • Provide cultural and interpretive information in alignment with community protocols.

Retail Operations

  • Oversee retail sales, merchandising, inventory control, and POS systems.

  • Ensure product displays, stock levels, and sales processes meet operational standards.

Cultural Programming & Promotion

  • Support cultural exhibits, programming, and interpretive content in collaboration with cultural leads.

  • Assist with social media and promotional content while respecting cultural protocols.

Tourism Operations Support

  • Provide operational support for marina services, cabin rentals, and day tour activities.

  • Coordinate with tourism teams to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.

Community & Stakeholder Relations

  • Build positive relationships with partners, visitors, and local organizations.

  • Represent the Nation with professionalism and cultural respect.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in supervision, tourism, hospitality, retail, or visitor services.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with POS systems.

  • Ability to manage schedules, budgets, and operational priorities.

  • Knowledge of—or willingness to learn—local Indigenous culture.

  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle.

  • Experience in Indigenous tourism or cultural programming.

  • Knowledge of Gold River and the Nootka Sound region.

  • Marketing or social media experience.

  • Background in community engagement or cultural interpretation

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
