The ideal candidate will help coordinate and optimize the execution of construction work carried out during planned outages and projects at the Montreal refinery, to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations.

Minimum requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in the heavy industrial construction industry

  • A good knowledge of industrial equipment (towers, furnaces and exchangers), lifting equipment, slinging and welding as well as familiar with controlled tightening methods by tension and twisting

  • A strong sense of leadership, communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment during turnaround periods

  • Knowledge of integrated maintenance software (SAP or others) and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)

  • Fluent in French and working proficiency in English

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement workforce and logistics plans tailored to site needs

  • Conduct constructability reviews to identify and mitigate technical risks

  • Coordinate contractors and suppliers to ensure alignment, schedule adherence, and quality execution

  • Support shutdowns and construction projects while following Suncor’s values, procedures, and safety standards

  • Identify and introduce new tools, methods, and ways of working to improve efficiency and execution quality

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (Planning, Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Safety, and Inspection)

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, adapt to change, and make timely decisions to meet operational needs

Location and other details:

  • You will work at our Montreal Refinery, located at 11701 Sherbrooke Street East

  • Full-time, day work (40 hours per week) and is eligible for overtime and includes on-call period (1-2 weeks per year)

  • Be available for overtime during turnaround time

  • This is a safety sensitive position
