Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Test Technician/Troubleshooter to support production testing and troubleshooting for a leading electronics manufacturing client in Markham, ON. In this role, you will work closely with the Test Engineering team to set up test stations, run diagnostics, validate repairs, and perform detailed troubleshooting on complex PCB assemblies. This position requires strong technical skills, the ability to interpret schematics, and experience working with electronic test equipment.

  • Pay Rate: $18.00 - $21.00/hour (based on experience)

  • Location: Markham, ON

  • Schedule: 3:30pm – 12:00am

  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time | 12-month contract

Responsibilities:

  • Follow the daily test schedule as directed by the Test Supervisor.

  • Set up, validate, and maintain test stations according to product and customer specifications.

  • Scan boards through the MES system and accurately record all test failures.

  • Troubleshoot PCB assemblies down to component level (analog, digital, and power circuits).

  • Interpret schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, and datasheets to analyze failures.

  • Identify defective components (ICs, resistors, capacitors, connectors, power devices).

  • Perform soldering, de-soldering, rework, fine-pitch repair, and BGA inspection/rework.

  • Mount boards into fixtures/backplanes and perform electrical checks (continuity, diode tests, power integrity).

  • Validate repairs through functional, electrical, and system‑level tests.

  • Use oscilloscopes, DMMs, LCR meters, power supplies, hi‑pot testers, logic analyzers, and similar instruments.

  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA), document findings, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Support Engineering and Quality teams in addressing recurring or complex issues.

  • Resolve production defects, NCMRs, and yield-related problems.

  • Ensure compliance with test procedures, quality standards, and ESD safety practices.

  • Properly handle, store, and transport ESD‑sensitive materials.

  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment.

  • Report equipment issues, anomalies, and process deviations promptly.

  • Perform additional tasks as needed to support production

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in electronics testing, troubleshooting, and PCB repair in manufacturing.

  • Strong understanding of electronic assemblies: SMT, through‑hole, fine‑pitch components.

  • Proven experience with failure analysis and corrective action implementation.

  • Ability to read schematics, PCB layouts, and test documentation.

  • Strong knowledge of analog, digital, and power electronics.

  • Experience with communication protocols (SPI, I²C, UART); knowledge of PCIe, Ethernet, DDR is an asset.

  • Experience with FPGA/ASIC‑based boards (asset).

  • Proficient with oscilloscope, DMM, LCR meter, logic analyzer, power supply, sniffer/locator tools, and programming tools (EEPROM, JTAG).

  • Hands-on rework experience (soldering, hot air, BGA rework, microscope inspection).

  • Familiar with IPC‑A‑610 and IPC‑7711/7721 standards (asset).

  • Experience with firmware tools or Linux is an advantage.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and test reporting tools.

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
