The Senior HR Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) – Loblaw Real Estate (LRE) is a strategic advisor to the LRE leadership team, responsible for shaping and executing people strategies that drive long-term organizational performance and growth. This role provides advanced HR expertise across talent management, organizational design, employee relations, leadership development, total rewards, engagement, and compliance. The Sr. HRBP leads complex change initiatives, influences enterprise-level HR strategy, advise senior leaders, and plays a critical role in building future talent pipelines. Operating with a high degree of autonomy and strategic impact, the Sr. HRBP is a key enabler of culture, performance, and business transformation. 

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior business leaders to influence strategic decisions and people plans. 

  • Lead the creation and execution of strategic change initiatives including organizational design, operating model shifts, capability assessments, and change management plans. 

  • Establish annual HR priorities by conducting deep analysis of business needs and advising on services, programs, processes, and long-term HR strategies. 

  • Align business strategies with broader HR strategic objectives to drive value and address complex organizational challenges. 

  • Partner with recruitment teams and leaders to build proactive talent strategies focused on attraction, retention, and development of high-potential talent. 

  • Support leaders in building robust talent pipelines through coaching on succession planning, performance management, and development planning. 

  • Identify systemic barriers to success and drive proactive, scalable solutions that strengthen a performance-driven culture. 

  • Promote and train leaders on diversity, inclusion, and recognition programs across store groups. 

  • Develop and support the broader HR team through coaching, knowledge sharing, and contribution to functional growth initiatives. 

  • Guide senior leaders in sustaining colleague engagement, cultural alignment, and Blue Culture principles while enabling them to own engagement outcomes. 

  • Provide counsel on complex employee relations matters, ensuring alignment with HR policies and legislative requirements (ESA, Human Rights Code). 

  • Serve as a mentor and trusted advisor on leadership development, organizational issues, and people strategies. 

  • Navigate sophisticated business challenges and present insights and recommendations to senior leaders and executives. 

  • Lead and contribute to cross-functional projects with enterprise-level impact. 

  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with the highest level of integrity. 

  • Demonstrate strong judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities in high-impact situations. 

  • Represent HR at senior-level discussions and influence broader organizational direction. 

  • Perform additional duties as assigned. 

 

What You’ll Need: 

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or related field; CHRL or CHRM designation preferred. 

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with significant experience in strategic HR business partnering. 

  • Strong leadership presence with advanced influencing, relationship-building, and persuasion skills. 

  • Comfort presenting complex issues to leaders and executives in a clear, compelling manner. 

  • Proven ability to interpret conceptual business goals and translate them into practical HR strategies. 

  • Demonstrated track record in strategic planning and supporting high-impact organizational initiatives. 

  • Detail-oriented, collaborative, and proactive, with strong success leading projects and cross-functional teams. 

  • Strong judgment, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills. 

  • High integrity and ability to handle highly sensitive information. 

  • Advanced digital literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 

  • Strong analytical capability and ability to solve complex HR and business challenges. 

  • High sense of urgency with exceptional customer service orientation. 

  • Demonstrates authenticity, strong values, trust-building, and alignment with Blue Culture principles. 

  • Highly self-motivated, independent, and comfortable operating with minimal direction. 

  • Solid knowledge of employment and workplace legislation. 

  • Ability to accommodate and support individuals with accessibility needs. 

  • Strong analytic skills and ability to problem-solve complex issues 

  • Exceptional dedication to customer service with sound sense of urgency

  • Highly motivated, self-starter, requiring little direction 

  • Sound knowledge of relevant employment and workplace legislation.

Hiring Range / Échelle salariale à l’embauche :

$100,000.00 - $132,000.00 / 100.000,00$ - 132.000,00$ (per year / par an)
