Job Description

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Sr. Manager will be a member of the Technology Business Management team within the Strategy & Performance Management tower in Tech Infrastructure Team which is responsible for producing the bill-of-IT monthly and developing and delivering various analysis which supports key decision making across RBC.

The Senior Manager will partner with various stakeholders within S&PM and the various towers to assess, research, gather requirements to improve reporting stack and develop new reports.  In addition, the Senior Manager will evaluate opportunities to automate all dependent volume feeds and recommend decommissioning of duplicate or unwanted portals.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Lead and host monthly stakeholder meetings to share Apptio progress, review stakeholder requirements, etc.
  • Build out monthly reporting and analytics to be able to support BAS, Finance and Service Owner discussions and analysis that provide insights on impact to RBC’s lines of business
  • Support the Director, TI Business Analytics & Reporting with roadmap communication and strategy development
  • Responsible for communication of roadmap with stakeholders and solicit feedback to be incorporated
  • Responsible for gathering and documenting and receiving sign off from stakeholders on new requirements
  • Responsible for monthly reporting to senior executives on chargeback to LoBs as well as progress of Apptio
  • Responsible for working with Service Owners in helping understand both their indirect and direct costs
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining TI’s Wall of Numbers for the Productivity & Efficiency program

Execution & Operational Excellence

  • Produce the bill-of-IT on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain existing reports and lead development of net new reports.
  • Works with stakeholders to determine reporting needs and gather report requirements.
  • Identifies technology & process gaps and develop recommendations to close those gaps.
  • Ability to gain insights and drive the organization forward in terms of proactive vs reactive functionality.
  • Builds excel or SQL models to drive analysis and communicates results to senior management.
  • Assists with analytical support for Apptio BAU activities.
  • Works with key stakeholders to identify potential areas for automation of monthly feeds into Apptio.
  • Assesses ambiguous situations and problems, provides clarity and drive a solution with supporting, succinct analytics.

Relationship Management

  • Facilitates ongoing communication and relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Work with stakeholders within TI to drive continuous improvements to service offerings

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Required:

  • University or College Degree or equivalent experience – and 5-7 years relevant experience
  • Effective collaborator – active listener, respectfully challenges, strong influencer and negotiator
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills as well as excellent written skills
  • Strong at building relationships and influencing without authority.
  • Attention to detail and quality is crucial.
  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint and MS Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of NIE and charge-out methodologies at RBC
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to understand complex concepts and be able to simplify for a number of users

Preferred:

  • ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) or equivalent preferred
  • Understanding of all RBC Lines of Business and that translates to their infrastructure needs
  • Proficiency in data management, ETL(Extract, Transform, Load) tools
  • MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
