Adecco is currently seeking a Senior Estimator for a 12-month contract role in Edmonds, BC, offering $88/hour. In this role, you’ll lead cost estimating and scheduling for high-voltage transmission and substation projects (69kV–500kV) across all project phases. You’ll collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project teams to ensure accurate, high-quality estimates that support major infrastructure initiatives. This is a great opportunity to apply your technical expertise and leadership in a high-impact utility environment.

  • Pay rate: $88/hour.

  • Location: Edmonds, BC

  • Shifts: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm

  • Job type: 12-month contract | Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare direct and indirect cost estimates and high-level schedules for 69kV–500kV transmission lines (overhead, submarine, underground) and substation projects.

  • Develop and manage estimating work packages, ensuring alignment with project scope and work breakdown structures.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure accuracy and adherence to engineering standards.

  • Support regulatory processes and present estimates at management review meetings.

  • Analyze contractor progress, contract variances, and change requests to support project performance.

  • Provide mentorship and supervision to junior staff and consultants.

Requirements:

  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering (Electrical preferred).

  • Registered or eligible for registration with EGBC as a Professional Engineer.

  • Minimum 8 years of engineering and construction experience, with at least 4 years in heavy industrial project estimating.

  • Proven experience with utility-scale transmission and substation projects.

  • Proficiency in estimating software, MS Office, and project management tools.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel to remote BC locations.

  • Experience with substation conceptual layouts is an asset.

  • Membership with AACE International and familiarity with AACE estimating practices would be an asset.
