Job Description:  

The Sr. Designer for the Men’s and Gender Free assortment will lead and execute on all aspects of product concepts, design, and execution reporting to the VP, Product and Technical Design. The Sr. Designer will partner with cross functional teams to ensure the product successfully supports the business and profit objectives while adhering to the brand strategy.  

 


What you'll do:

  • Identifies new modern trends, innovations, opportunities, and will lead the creation of seasonable design concepts to final product 

  • Design and build a cohesive collection from start to finish 

  • Ability to quickly, and accurately, communicate design vision through technical and detailed sketches to support development of style  

  • Partnering with Technical Design in fitting to accurately communicate the design intent to support style execution and costing  

  • Adheres to design development deadlines in accordance with the corporate calendar 

  • Collaborate with Product Development, Raw Materials, Technical Design, and QA to support in the development and execution of assortment 

  • Partner with buying teams to understand how the line is currently performing in stores – quarterly stores, lead design meetings, and action feedback for continual innovation and/or improvement of product 

  • Responsible for understanding the impact of your decisions on timelines and margins 

  • Responsible for performance evaluations, hiring and coaching of designated design team member(s) 

  • Travel to offshore factories as needed 

  • Global travel for research / concept and product development 


What you bring :

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Fashion Design  

  • Minimum of 6-8 years of design experience is required  

  • Advanced knowledge of fabrications for woven’s, knits, sweater yarns, and trims 

  • Must have a strong understanding of colour, print, fabric, fit, and garment construction  

  • Excellent presentation skills of both design and final presentation 

  • Demonstrates strong leadership and management skills 

  • Anticipates market needs and how to prepare for them 

  • Must have a team-oriented attitude and an eagerness to learn 

  • Strong organizational skills and strong sense of urgency – we work in a fast-paced environment and those skills are essential

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative to achieve departmental and corporate objectives 

  • Must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and PLM 

  • Must have experience in or have the desire to learn 3D application: CLO
