We are looking for Registered Nurses to join unit 8A on a full-time permanent basis to provide family-centered nursing care to children along the continuum of care. In this role, you will assess complex nursing needs and provide well-rounded care to support children and families as they experience acute and chronic illnesses. Here's What You'll Get to Do on 8A
- Nurses on 8A will learn and develop a valued skillset foundational to practice in acute care clinical settings:
- Management of complex intravenous and pharmacological therapies
- Administration of Chemotherapy/Biotherapy
- Central Venous Access Device care, maintenance and troubleshooting
- Administration of blood products, oxygen therapy, enteral and parenteral nutrition
- Recognition and management of oncologic emergencies
- Management of care across the phases of the illness continuum, including palliative and end-of-life care.
- Navigation of complex psychosocial dynamics and care challenges related to life-threatening illness and its treatment.
- Involvement in new and innovative therapies and clinical trials.

Here's What You'll Need
Essential Requirements
- Graduate of an approved Baccalaureate Nursing Program
- Active General Class RN License through the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Possess 1+ years of clinical nursing experience in an RN capacity (Candidates with less than 1 year of clinical RN experience are encouraged to apply to our New Graduate Nurse job opening Job ID 23888.)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to utilize your critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork abilities.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusivity
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent & related acute care nursing experience is strongly preferred
- Previous work experience in paediatrics or experience working with children is strongly preferred
- Experience in nursing in haematology/oncology is preferred
Employment Type
- Permanent full-time,
- 1.0 FTE, including access to benefits, HOOPP pension plan & personal days
- Shift: days/nights/weekends/holidays
