Procurement Analyst (12 month contract)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead/Manage RFI/RFP/RFQ, supplier selection and negotiate process for suppliers as needed.

  • Execute end to end procurement lifecycle including: Completing contract negotiations, including commercial and noncommercial terms, working with internal and external legal counsel, information security and other cross functional areas of the organization to ensure contracts and agreements meet TMX policies and standards. 

  • Lead day-to-day vendor relationships for productive, mutually beneficial outcomes

  • Develop a detailed understanding of each Vendor with an assigned Category, and key relationships within each

  • Apply business intelligence and reporting made available by the Manager, Analysis and reporting in order to make actionable recommendations on sourcing and vendor management for key vendors in the category

  • Takes a project management approach to ensure deliverables are met within the appropriate timelines.

  • Draft, review and execute agreements between TMX entities and vendors.

  • Ensure the financial health of the vendor, including all inherent risk drivers, are clearly understood and spend owners are advised accordingly, including compliance with Risk Assessment protocols/procedures developed and implemented by the Head, Procurement Operations

  • Responsible for ensuring maximum legal protection through detailed documentation and review of vendor terms and conditions

  • Responsible for accurate data and analysis in monthly and quarterly Category reports to team in monitoring market, category and competitor performance.

  • Develop clear and consistent category approaches in alignment with functional and end-client objectives, using Analysis of industry trends and conditions 

  • Engage end client stakeholders to understand key priorities and provide feedback to Category management

  • Communicate and report to functional leadership and end client stakeholders the status of any critical external relationships that could otherwise impact planning and decision making

  • Proactively monitor and analyze performance and trends within categories to identify, highlight issues and opportunities that support the business. 

  • Contribute to the development of improved strategic sourcing strategies

  • Evaluate risk, assess, and prepare forecasts, scenarios and other factors concerning the supply market, write reports and recommendations.

  • Lead cross functional assigned sourcing files/initiatives to include; development of sourcing approach, evaluation of suppliers, analysis of bids/proposals, and preparation/execution of contracts

  • Participate in professional development activities to keep abreast of current industry best practices

  • Ensure compliance with all TMX Corporate Policies

  • Identify and provide input into vendor scorecard elements based on contractual requirements and KPIs

  • Identify high impact cost reduction opportunities.

  • Resolve sophisticated contract related issues with vendors as needed

  • Participate in the evaluation of formulation of procurement policies and procedures

  • Presents and explains sourcing decisions and pricing to internal clients, function leadership, senior management

  • Takes an account management approach to managing multiple simultaneous complex sourcing files, performing check-ins, follow up with clients and leading quarterly vendor performance reviews

  • Leverage the organization’s buying power to optimize costs, access new suppliers, reduce lead times, and guarantee supply.

  • Supervises transactions/deliverables to ensure that they are in accordance with the Contract, SoW or Purchase order and ensures that non-performance is addressed immediately and issues resolution is managed in a structured way.

  • Actively manages vendor relationships, risk mitigation (financial, business continuity, reputational, contractual, commercial) and continuous improvement to optimize value and deliver mutual benefits over the life of the relationship.

  • Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and management.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years previous experience managing activities across the end-to-end IT procurement lifecycle

  • Experience demonstrating internal and external partnerships to drive enhanced value for the business

  • Demonstrated experience negotiating contracts  

  • Outstanding relationship building, client centricity, and influential skills

  • Track record of delivering commitments

  • Promptly being available in responding to clients inquiries with a sense of urgency and putting clients first

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Builds relationships with internal and external partners to drive engagement and ensure their input and support using problem-solving, persuasion, and proactive communication skills

  • Strong negotiating, persuading, and influencing skills

  • Is a change agent, embraces new ways of working, tools, and technologies.

  • Keeps up to date on new industry trends and best practices

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 3 years proven experience

This role is hybrid  (2 - 3 days/week  in the office) in our Toronto office.

Salary Range: $55 - $65/hour - CAD

Please note that the salary range included is a guideline only. The salary offered may vary based on factors, including, but not limited to, the successful candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.
