Applications are invited for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Neuropathologist position in the Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP). This is an academic appointment in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at McMaster University, and academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.   

 

The successful candidate will have completed a minimum of 5 years of residency training in Neuropathology (direct entry), or 2 years of Neuropathology training following Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology/Anatomical Pathology residency (pathway 2). Strong frozen section and surgical pathology skills (including related molecular/biomarker testing) are required.  

 

Applicants must hold certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent in Neuropathology and hold (or be eligible to obtain) medical licensure in the Province of Ontario.   

 

The successful candidate will hold an academic appointment, and they will be expected to regularly participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine. A commitment to academic scholarship in the areas of education, quality improvement, knowledge translation, innovation, and/or clinical/translational research is essential.
