Job Description

What is the opportunity?

RBC Investor Services provides services to the Investment Management, Broker/Dealer and Insurance Services industries. These services include Trusteeship, Recordkeeping, Fund Accounting and Derivatives Support. The Fund Accounting Operations Group is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of fund valuations.

As the Manager of Net Asset Value (NAV) Production, reporting to the Associate Director, NAV Production, you will join RBC’s Investor and Treasury Services department in order to ensure high quality of all NAV deliverables.  You will bring with you your extensive experience in fund valuations in order to ensure team efficiency, accuracy and effectiveness in order to reduce operational risk.

 

What will you do?

  • Lead a team of Fund Accountants in delivering timely and accurate daily NAVs for a group of mutual funds

  • Deliver timely and accurate year-end and month-end distributions

  • Ensure all deadlines and Service Level Agreements (SLA) are met

  • Monitor the team quality and performance

  • Enhance productivity and effective relationships with other departments

  • Minimize NAV discrepancies and ensure timely corrective action

  • Implement projects including new fund launches and fund mergers

  • Ensure that resources are effectively managed to deal with increase/decrease in number of funds

  • Support the introduction of new technology and operational processes to effectively reduce cost, increase quality of service and ensure accuracy

  • Run client/fund event planning meetings

  • Complete annual & semi-annual performance reviews for staff 

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Degree or diploma in an Accounting or Finance related field

  • Extensive experience in fund valuations, and 5+ years of managerial experience specifically within a fund accounting environment

  • Strong knowledge of the fund industry, products and financial markets

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for Investment Funds

  • Good technical knowledge of calculating Net Asset Value

  • Knowledge of Accounting standards

  • Strong Analytical skills, Ability to Multitask and meet tight deadlines and exceptional problem solving abilities

  • Strong leadership & interpersonal skills

  • Fund Accounting System knowledge (MPower) 

Nice-to-have:

  • Accounting designation or other professional designation (CFA) is recommended

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$67,000.00 - $110,000.00

The pay range provided is for the primary work location referenced in the Additional Job Details section of this job posting. Pay ranges may differ based on location.
