Adecco is currently hiring a full-time detail‑oriented Machine Shop Planner for a full‑time, 24‑month contract opportunity in Ajax, ON. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all machining activities to ensure material availability, optimal workflow, and on‑time delivery of machine shop components.

This position works closely with production, quality, buyers, and engineering teams to optimize schedules, manage work orders, resolve issues, and maintain accurate planning data. Experience in aerospace manufacturing is preferred; however, strong manufacturing experience will also be considered.

*As this role is subject to the Canadian Government's Controlled Goods Program (CGP) the qualifying applicants must possess Canadian Citizenship or permanent residency status. A work permit status is not eligible for this role. Do you have Canadian Citizenship or permanent residency status

  • Pay Rate: $30-33 per hour

  • Location: Ajax, ON

  • Schedule: 7:30 am to 4 pm (M-T) 7:30 am to 12:30 pm (Friday)

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor availability of materials, machines, tools, and manpower to assess workflow impact

  • Provide accurate delivery dates and attend delivery meetings

  • Perform finite scheduling for all parts and machining centers

  • Revise production plans and schedules as needed to adjust for unforeseen changes

  • Ensure on‑time delivery of all machine shop components in alignment with MPS (Master Production Schedule)

  • Track and monitor production progress; request delivery updates from raw material and special processing buyers

  • Follow up with production teams and manage work orders throughout the manufacturing cycle

  • Review and action work order reschedule messages based on MRP recommendations and shop capacity

  • Coordinate design and drawing changes, ensuring timely and cost‑effective implementation

  • Maintain accurate planning parameters (e.g., order policies, safety stock, lead times, make/buy decisions)

  • Administer manufacturing planning documentation and issue manufacturing work instructions

  • Liaise with Quality regarding schedules, non‑conformances, and FAIs to support planning requirements

  • Identify and manage bottleneck operations, assigning priorities to improve flow

  • Highlight potential issues early and monitor resolutions through weekly progress reviews

  • Optimize work processes to improve machining efficiency and reduce delays

Qualifications:

  • College Diploma or University Business Degree

  • CAPICS certification preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience

  • Previous aerospace industry experience preferred, but manufacturing experience is also accepted

  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings

  • Strong ability to communicate with production, quality, and supply chain teams

  • Solid organizational and problem‑solving skills

  • Knowledge of MRP II; SAP experience is an asset

  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
