The expected pay (or pay range) for this position is $7,500 - $12,500/month

 

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, and in the range $90,000 – $130,000/year. 
  

Lecturer Position (1 year term) in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources
at the University of British Columbia 

 

The Faculty of Management at the University of British Columbia (UBC) Okanagan campus invites applications for a one-year full-time Lecturer appointment. The anticipated start date for the position is July 1, 2026, or a mutually agreed upon date. We are inviting applications from candidates with expertise in the area of organizational behavior and human resources.

 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess: 

  • Near completion or completion of a PhD in organizational behaviour or human resources from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited business school; 

  • C.P.H.R. designation preferred;

  • Demonstrated teaching excellence in organizational behaviour and human resources ; 

  • Demonstrated communication skills, and ability to convey ideas clearly; 

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and a track record of contributing positively to a work environment; 

  • Demonstrated commitment to professional and undergraduate education; 

  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to actively participate in collegial internal and external events and initiatives. 

  • A commitment to the principles of Equity Diversity, and Inclusion;

 

Duties include: teaching in our undergraduate and graduate programs; as well as contributing to other teaching and administrative initiatives of the Faculty of Management. The candidate will be expected to teach eight courses (or course-equivalents) over the 12-month period:

 

  • 12 credits of COMM_O 192 Intro to OB

  • 3 credits of COMM_O 303 Strategic Staffing

  • 3 credits of COMM_O 304 Training, Development and Performance Management

  • 3 credits of COMM_O 305 Strategic Compensation

  • 3 credits of MGMT_O 523 Human Resource Management

Lecturer positions are appointments without review (i.e., non-tenure track) with the possibility of renewal for successive terms, subject to availability of funding and demonstration of excellence in teaching in accordance with the Collective Agreement between UBC and the UBC Faculty Association.

The Faculty consists of management faculty who are diverse in their expertise and undertake research with a wide range of themes. More information about the Faculty can be found on its website at https://management.ok.ubc.ca/.  UBC is one of the world’s leading universities and is consistently ranked in the top 40. The university has two distinct campuses, one in Vancouver and one in Kelowna. UBC’s Okanagan campus, located in the city of Kelowna, has over 10,000 students in seven faculties, with strong undergraduate and graduate programs.
