Stantec Geomatics has a full-time opportunity for a GIS Intern in Calgary, Alberta.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Managing assigned tasks by gaining a complete understanding of scope, time allocation and delivery schedule.
- Integration of multi-disciplinary data and documents from a variety of sources and formats.
- Preparation of customized maps, web services and data delivery systems for clients.
- Interaction with Stantec’s Geospatial Services team and broader corporate GIS corporate team.
- When appropriate utilize statistical summary tools in MS Excel and other Stantec statistical software tools to perform a variety of geospatial statistical exercises.
- Ensure data and drawings are in accordance with project scope, client specifications and quality standards.
Your Capabilities
- Data Management experience using MS SQL Server/Microsoft Access, including a working knowledge of data governance and standards.
- Experience with ESRI ArcPro, ArcGIS Online and Autodesk products would be an asset.
- Developing skills in advanced geoprocessing, scripting, automation. Experience in using Python would be an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet multiple and varied deadlines.
- Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information System (GIS) or Geomatics with a focus in GIS. Candidates who have completed course work will be an asset.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
