Adecco is actively seeking a Financial Controller to join our client’s team in Scarborough, ON for a full-time role offering $125K–$130K annually. This position leads financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and compliance. The ideal candidate is a CPA with strong analytical skills, leadership experience, and a hands-on approach to financial management. You'll work cross-functionally to support strategic goals and ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial operations.

  • Pay Rate: $125k-$130k/year.

  • Location: Scarborough, ON

  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time

Responsibilities:  

  • Prepare timely financial statements, conduct variance analysis, and support executive decision-making with performance dashboards.

  • Lead the accounting team, ensure adherence to policies and standards, and manage month- and year-end closing processes.

  • Handle Canadian tax filings and liaise with external advisors; U.S. tax knowledge is a plus. Ensure full compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.

  • Establish strong internal controls and support audits with accurate and timely financial documentation.

  • Contribute to annual budgets and financial forecasts; monitor results and recommend improvements.

  • Drive efficiency by identifying and implementing enhancements to financial systems and workflows.

  • Work with departments like operations and sales to align financial goals and reporting.

  • Mentor finance staff and promote continuous learning. Stay updated on accounting standards and share insights with the team.  

Requirements:  

  • Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.

  • A university degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field.

  • Must hold a CPA designation in good standing.

  • Minimum of seven years’ progressive experience in accounting or financial roles, with a minimum of two years within the manufacturing sector.

  • Deep understanding of both Canadian financial regulations and accounting frameworks; familiarity with U.S. GAAP is an added asset.

  • Advanced user of QuickBooks Online and proficient with Excel and other financial software or ERP tools.

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to manage teams and deadlines effectively.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling complex financial data.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial concepts clearly.
