Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Assistant Foreperson, Bridges & Structures (B&S) to support field operations within the Bridges and Structures group. This position plays a key leadership role in assisting with day-to-day planning, coordination, and execution of work activities. In the absence of the Foreperson, the successful candidate will step into a leadership capacity, overseeing crews, coordinating work protection, managing equipment and materials, and ensuring safe and efficient job execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teams across the assigned Seniority Territory
  • Lead, guide, and support field crews to ensure safe and efficient work execution
  • Interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • Plan and lay out work activities ahead of the team
  • Prepare cost estimates and sketches as required
  • Complete administrative duties, including daily work reports and documentation
  • Assist with managing tools, equipment, and material ordering
  • Take on Foreperson responsibilities when required
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to qualify for a Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) rules card
  • Ability to meet National Safety Code (NSC) requirements and reporting standards
  • Certification in Fall Protection and scaffold installation
  • Proven ability to perform:
    • Rough carpentry (timber tie replacement)
    • Concrete forming and pouring (reinforced structures, culverts)
    • Culvert installation and replacement
  • Knowledge of Standard Plans and Standard Practice Circulars (SPCs)
  • Ability to arrange and manage proper track protection, including:
    • Track Occupancy Permit (TOP)
    • Occupancy Control System (OCS) Clearance
    • 842 protection
  • Ability to perform work in accordance with the United Steelworkers (USW) Agreement
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
