What you'll do

The Sherwood Hockey Brand Consultant will support the development and execution of annual and multi-year brand plans, including shared growth and financial targets designed to build equity and strengthen the brand’s impact throughout the globe. Reporting to the Associate Brand Manager, the Sherwood Brand Consultant is accountable for the coordination and support of business planning, brand development, marketing activities, content and overall brand governance as products and campaigns are brought to life.

  • Supporting the execution of brand management plans, strategic brand initiatives and decisions by driving to key insights through in-depth competitive, consumer, shopper, financial and assortment analysis.

  • Supporting key processes including assortment planning, financial planning and forecasting, business performance reporting,  cross-functional and agency briefings (e.g. content, packaging design, in-store POP, etc) , and overall brand stewardship.

  • Support the development of branded content that is linked to key product launches, storytelling initiatives and overall equity driving strategies. 

  • Lead the development and on-site support for trade shows, training activations, sales conferences, retailer events, athlete functions, etc.

  • Supporting alignment and decision making across teams through key integration points with Merchandising,  Product Development, Strategic Marketing, Loyalty,  Packaging, Store Operations and other relevant functions.  

  • Building and maintaining external relationships such as sales reps, distributers, key retail partners and athlete agents. 

  • Assisting in new brand development or implementation by integrating strategic and executional efforts across the organization.

  • Leading the in-store experience design and execution to drive breakthrough impact at shelf, while ensuring brand standards are met.

  • Working closely with core cross-functional and external partners throughout the product development cycle to build brand assortment plans,  launch innovation, disrupt the industry through collaborations and ensure execution within brand guidelines.

  • Spearheading Legal (Intellectual Property) claims as relevant across the portfolio in support of Marketing objectives, and related to the respective portfolio. 

  • Monitor and communicate operational expenses to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.   

  • Contribute to professional development efforts through ongoing development, attending relevant conferences and continuing education courses.

  • A passion and knowledge for hockey and sport. 

  • Undergraduate or Masters degree in Business with major in Marketing, or a related field.

  • Previous work experience in relevant field through co-ops, internships, and/or summer placements. 

  • Demonstrated ability in analytical thinking and data-driven decision making.

  • Solid business acumen required,  with experience working on financial business cases.

  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively & strategically, with strong business mindset.

  • Proven ability to formulate recommendations based upon robust research, and assessment of risk/rewards.

  • Ability to work well cross-functionally; demonstrated ability to collaborate, influence and negotiate.

  • Solid project management experience, with the ability to lead multiple cross-functional projects.

  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills, including the ability to comfortably and effectively present in front of different types of audiences.

  • Customer focused, with a bias for action.

  • Advanced user of MS Suite of Products (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).

  • Skills in Adobe programs (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, etc.)

Our typical hiring range is between $53,000.00 and $88, 000.00 per annum. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
