Overview

We are looking for an accountable Automation Project Engineer to be responsible for all engineering and capital projects of our PepsiCo Beverages Toronto Facility. You will schedule, plan, forecast, resource, and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.

Total Compensation: $68,900 - $112,160


Responsibilities

  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned Capital projects
  • Interact daily with the clients (mainly production, maintenance, and quality department) to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans) and report regularly on project status
  • Assign responsibilities and mentor project team
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with project sponsor and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
  • Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills through leading meetings, facilitating meetings, and preparing and administering written plant communications.
  • Assist in plant initiatives and direct line supervision as needed.
  • Regular and predictable attendance at the work site
  • This role requires regular presence on the plant floor
  • This role may require off-shift and weekend work

Qualifications

Required

  • University Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management in industrial/highly automated environment  
  • Strong working knowledge of Controls and electrical engineering/maintenance processes
  • Understanding of Allen Bradley PLC5, 500 and Control Logix
  • Understanding of motor control and VFD operations
  • Experience with category III and IV Safety Circuits         
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications especially Excel
  • Project Management experience
  • Must be self-motivated, results and action oriented.
  • Ability to make independent and sound decisions.
  • Ability to conduct assessments and audits and evaluate to measure progress
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment
  • Strong leadership with the ability to get results through mentoring others
  • Must have organizational skills

Preferred

  • Understanding of servers and databases to support IT/Server Room
