Adecco is currently hiring a full-time highly analytical and proactive Asset Strategy Specialist to develop and implement strategies for optimizing asset performance, lifecycle management, and operational efficiency for our client, a leader in the oil and gas industry, in Fort McMurray, AB. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze data, identify improvement opportunities, and drive asset-related decisions that align with organizational objectives.

  • Pay Rate: $55 - $73/hr

  • Location: Fort McMurray (must be local or willing to relocate, this is not a FIFO role) 

  • Shift: Monday to Friday | 40 hours per week

  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time

  • Contract Duration: May to Dec 2026

Responsibilities:

  • Develop asset strategies following company’s Manage Equipment Strategy process to optimize risk and cost.

  • Leverage RCM and Streamlined RCM assessments to identify the appropriate mitigation activities to manage the risk and meet performance requirements throughout the asset lifecycle.

  • Work with Operations, Maintenance, Technical, and Engineering & Reliability personnel to ensure asset strategies are continuously improved, robust, and effective.

Qualifications:

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering. Preference is given to applicants with a background in Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) equipment.

  • Five or more years of industry experience, preferably in Oil Sands, Refinery, or Hydrocarbon Processing Facilities

  • Possess skills in the use and application of GE-APM or other commercial strategy software. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (mainly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and SAP.

  • Well-developed critical thinking and collaboration skills, with an ability to apply logic and challenge assumptions while working in a multi-disciplinary environment.

  • Strong analytical skills including analyzing statistical data, identify limits of analysis approaches, and the ability for trending and analysis to drive conclusions and recommendations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical report writing

  • Knowledge of API 580/581, API 571, and RCM2/3 is an asset. Knowledge of damage mechanisms and failure modes for machinery and E&I equipment an asset.

  • Must hold a Professional Engineering designation and be registered, or eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)
