Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced Accounting and Finance Manager to lead the accounting function for our client in Whitby, ON. You should be an experienced finance leader with strong technical accounting knowledge, proven team management capabilities, and the ability to oversee full‑cycle financial operations—including reporting, credit management, banking, FX, and compliance.

  • Pay Rate: $100,000/year

  • Location: Whitby, ON

  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff to ensure high performance and professional growth.

  • Drive continuous process improvements and strengthen financial controls across the department.

Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Oversee daily finance and accounting operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

  • Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and required submissions to head office.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and reporting requirements.

Accounts Receivable & Credit

  • Manage AR, collections, credit evaluations, and bad debt provisions.

  • Oversee AR insurance processes including limit reviews, claims, and negotiations.

  • Liaise with customers, vendors, and sales teams on credit and financial issues.

Banking, FX & Risk Management

  • Manage company bank accounts, payments, wire transfers, and foreign exchange purchases.

  • Monitor economic and market indicators to guide FX strategy and credit risk decisions.

Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure full SOX compliance and lead internal, external, and regulatory audits.

  • Support fraud investigations while maintaining strict confidentiality and integrity.

Cross‑Functional Support

  • Partner with internal teams to resolve financial, operational, and customer‑related issues.

  • Support special projects, process enhancements, and finance initiatives as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance; CPA designation or active pursuit strongly preferred.

  • 8+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in a management or leadership role.

  • Strong technical expertise in IFRS, ASPE, US GAAP, and SOX requirements.

  • Solid understanding of bankruptcy regulations, debtor‑creditor litigation, and credit/bank reporting.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and MS Office; experience with AS400 is an asset.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
