Applications are invited for a full-time permanent (1.0 FTE) Pediatric Pathologist position in the Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP), with an academic appointment in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at McMaster University.
The ideal candidate will have completed residency training in Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology (Anatomical Pathology) or Diagnostic and Clinical Pathology (General Pathology) with Pediatric Pathology fellowship training and/or substantial (>5 years) subspecialty expertise in the field. Strong frozen section, autopsy and surgical pathology skills (including related molecular/biomarker testing) are required.
Applicants must hold certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent in DMP/DCP, and hold or be eligible to obtain medical licensure in the Province of Ontario.
This is a full-time academic appointment with the rank commensurate with the candidate’s skills and experience. The successful candidate will be expected to regularly participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as needed by the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine. A commitment to academic scholarship in the areas of education, quality improvement, knowledge translation, innovation, and/or clinical/translational research is essential.
Remuneration for this full‑time position is $404,300 consistent with the current Uniform Minimum Level of Compensation (UMLC) for Pathologists in Ontario.

The successful candidate will be working at the McMaster Children’s Hospital site. McMaster Children’s Hospital has been providing care to children from across the region since 1988. Here, patients ranging in age from infancy to 17 receive care through a family-centred approach that accounts for the child’s emotional, mental and physical well-being.
