Your Role in Supporting Our Members:
As a Sr. Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing Vancity’s technology platforms to ensure operational efficiency, reliability, and an exceptional user experience. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will analyze complex data, design and implement platform solutions, support production environments, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You will play a key role in aligning technology solutions with business objectives while ensuring systems remain secure, compliant, and scalable. We are seeking a collaborative and technically skilled professional who excels at solving complex problems, leading solutions from design through implementation, and improving platform performance.
This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the Manager, Application Tech
While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands
How You'll Make an Impact:
- Analyzing and interpreting complex data from multiple sources to support business decisions and technology strategies
- Designing platform solutions that align with business requirements while adhering to industry best practices
- Leading end-to-end implementation of platform solutions, including technical design, configuration, testing, and deployment
- Supporting production platform environments by monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing timely resolutions
- Optimizing platform performance through continuous evaluation and enhancement of systems and processes
- Collaborating with teams across ITS and business units to ensure seamless integration of platforms and tools
- Partnering with vendors to deliver high-quality solutions, managing requirements, and ensuring timelines are achieved
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation for solutions, configurations, processes, and procedures
- Ensuring compliance with organizational policies, standards, and regulatory requirements related to technology and data security
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- 7+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, systems administration, application support, or related technology roles
- Demonstrated experience implementing and supporting enterprise technology platforms in complex environments
- Experience leading technical solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and production support activities
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues
- Experience collaborating with vendors, internal technology teams, and business stakeholders
- Knowledge of platform performance optimization, systems integration, and operational support practices
- Understanding of technology governance, security standards, compliance requirements, and documentation best practices
Extra Skills That Set You Apart:
- Experience supporting financial services or other highly regulated environments
- Cloud platform certifications or certifications related to infrastructure, systems, or platform engineering
- Experience with enterprise integration technologies and automation practices

What You’ll Earn:
The salary band for this role is CG3 Level D. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
