McMaster University is located on the traditional territories of the Haudenosaunee and Mississauga Nations and within the lands protected by the “Dish With One Spoon” wampum agreement.

 

The Department of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University invites applications for a full-time appointment in the tenure teaching track category at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor commencing July 1, 2026. The position is a teaching intensive role with shared responsibilities in the Integrated Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences (iBioMed) program and the Minor in Innovation in the Faculty of Engineering. The teaching focus is on the Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences degree specialization in Health, Engineering Science and Entrepreneurship (HESE) as well as Minor in Innovation educational offerings.

 

The successful candidate will be a full-time member of the Division of Education and Innovation and will be expected to contribute to the academic mission of the Faculties and Division. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate is expected to supervise undergraduate student projects and take on leadership roles.

 

The successful candidate will hold a doctorate in education, business or other related discipline. Expertise in entrepreneurship and business within the health sector, health systems, inquiry-based learning, and complexity/systems thinking is preferable. A strong record of accomplishment of facilitation and teaching in interdisciplinary and inquiry-based learning environments is essential. The successful candidate should possess a high level of independence and self-motivation.
