The Cancer Exercise & Physiotherapy (CEPL) in the UBC Faculty of Medicine, Vancouver Campus, is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join an established group of scientists and clinicians in the laboratory of Dr. Kristin Campbell.

Under direction of Dr. Kristin Campbell, the Cancer Exercise & Physiotherapy Lab and the Department of Physical Therapy in the Faculty of Medicine, is seeking a full time (1.0 FTE) Postdoctoral Research Fellow to perform research within a collaborative research program focused on knowledge translation and implementation of behavior change and structured exercise programs for people with breast and colon cancer, delivered through supportive care community organizations and clinical partnerships. '

The CEPL is a research lab that develops, evaluates, and implements physiotherapy and exercise interventions that support people living with and beyond cancer in managing treatment side effects and enhancing their quality of life. Through partnering with people with lived experience, healthcare providers and administrators, our team advocates for better integration of physiotherapy and exercise programs into standard cancer care.

The postdoctoral will collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams leading two major implementation projects:

1.       Does tailored referral support increase the reach of the Breast Cancer Endocrine Fitness (BE-FIT) program?

Using the RE‑AIM framework, the postdoctoral fellow will support co‑developing and evaluating direct and tailored referral strategies within BC Cancer and affiliated Community Oncology Network (CON) sites. These strategies aim to increase the reach of an evidence‑based breast cancer exercise program currently implemented at InspireHealth, BC’s leading supportive cancer care organization.

2.       CO.21-IMPACT: Implementing Physical Activity in ColorecTal Cancer

The postdoctoral fellow will play a central role in advancing an implementation initiative to integrate the CHALLENGE structured exercise program into routine clinical care for people with stage II–III colon cancer. Responsibilities include collaborating with original CHALLENGE trial investigators, local clinicians, health administrators, and people with lived experience to co‑design an implementation blueprint, and evaluate the reach and implementation of a clinic‑embedded direct referral pathway at BC Cancer Kelowna using the RE‑AIM framework.

This full time Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is located at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.

Start date of 1 September 2026.
