Posting Description

The Record Management Clerk will perform a variety of clerical functions, which support effective Release of Information (ROI) and Scanning and Clerical workflows within the Health Information Management Department. 

Here's What You'll Get to Do 

  • Coordinate the thorough management of health information documents according to established policies and guidelines.
  • Prepare, index and scan corporate documents/patient records.
  • Verify and upload corporate documents/patient records while maintaining quality assurance on the images scanned.
  • Assist with the destruction and purging of records and other hospital documents. Verify reports are digitized correctly prior to purging.
  • Provide front desk/reception service, including handling walk-in, email, and telephone inquiries. Coordinate documentation and workflow related to release or acceptance of deceased patients to funeral homes, coroners, etc.
  • Receive, triage, and log incoming ROI requests (fax, electronic, in-person).
  • Review documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Other duties as required. 

Here's What You'll Need 

  • Completion of a medical office administration, or health information program, or equivalent. 
  • Min. two years' previous experience in healthcare.
  • Previous experience in a Health Record Department would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of privacy legislation and consent requirements would be an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience with clinical applications (Epic, Chart Maxx).
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), experience with SharePoint and Power Platform would be an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and take initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, organized, and flexible.

  • Positive outlook and great team player.

Employment Type: 13 month CONTRACT with Benefits.
