Adecco is currently hiring a Commercial Lines Property & Casualty Underwriting Supervisor for a full-time opportunity in Edmonton, Alberta. This role is ideal for an experienced underwriting leader who enjoys mentoring teams, managing complex commercial risks, and building strong broker relationships while driving profitable growth. In this position, you will lead and develop a high-performing underwriting team while ensuring alignment with underwriting standards, regulatory requirements, and strategic business objectives in a collaborative and fast-paced insurance environment.

  • Location: Edmonton, AB

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday | Hybrid (3 days onsite)

  • Employment Type: Full-time | Permanent

Responsibilities

  • Oversee underwriting quality and ensure consistent application of underwriting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

  • Provide technical guidance on complex commercial property and casualty risks

  • Conduct post-loss underwriting reviews and support risk management initiatives

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with broker partners to support portfolio growth and retention

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and support the professional development of the underwriting team

  • Recruit, onboard, and develop team members while fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to improve underwriting workflows, efficiencies, and strategic initiatives

  • Monitor market trends, emerging risks, and competitive conditions to support underwriting decisions

  • Ensure service standards and operational objectives are achieved across the underwriting team

  • Support profitable portfolio management through sound underwriting analysis and decision-making

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada

  • Minimum 7 years of commercial lines underwriting experience

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is required

  • Strong expertise in commercial property and casualty underwriting including risk analysis, pricing, compliance, and underwriting guidelines

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and motivate teams

  • Strong relationship-building skills with brokers and internal stakeholders

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and underwriting systems such as Guidewire

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience

  • CIP, CRM, or FCIP designation completed

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
